Sometimes I tell people that yoga is a Work In, not a Work Out. It takes you to your inner world and lets you wander there and notice how you are feeling, what you are noticing, and what you like and dislike.
You get to make choices for yourself about how you move and how long you stay in poses that is based on your personal experience, not some concept outside yourself that usually works on a “one size fits all” perspective. We are all individuals and what works for one does not necessarily work for everyone.
In a world that is constantly telling us how to feel and what to think this can be a truly liberating experience because you begin to see things from your own point of view.
